In 2013, my manager at my new job (which I was starting the following week) emailed me with a link to an animated greeting card. She asked,
"Can you do something like this?"

The last time I'd done any motion graphics at that point was in college, when the only tool available to my graphic design classes was Macromedia Flash. (I did not love Flash websites, but I loved the interactive animation aspect of it). BUT...I was super excited about this job, I love teaching myself things, and I had a lynda.com subscription.

...my response: "not today, but I will by the time I start next week."

That week I learned Adobe Premier...before realizing I really needed to learn After Affects. So I learned both, but it was After Effects that became my new favorite toy. I'd never had so much fun making something for work before.

Since then, I've been carving out opportunities to learn whenever possible (mostly on my own time). I love animating and I am looking for opportunities to improve my skills in this area.
